2011 COLLEGE BASEBALL LINEUP DI ALL STAR TEAM
In years past we celebrated the top players in college baseball by naming our own “All American” teams; however for the most part each of the teams have realistically been rehashes of other publications picks with some minor jumbling of the rankings - once you've seen one All American list, you've pretty much seen them all.
Looking for a way to keep things fresh and new, we've put a twist on the concept. Instead of yet another All American list with the same names and numbers, we've created the inaugural College Baseball Lineup All Star Team. The team consists of forty top student-athletes from across the country and the roster consists of at least one player from each conference. A predetermined ceiling of forty players was established and adhered to which made creating the final list extremely cumbersome as difficult decisions were made as fill the team with the appropriate number of players at each position.
The top players whose names fill first team All American lists have been included on the team, along with other deserving exceptional athletes who are often overlooked because they didn't choose to play in a premier conference. Almost every player was named their respective conference's player or pitcher of the year at the conclusion of the season.
