Top ranked Tampa (7-1) split a twin-bill with George College on Sunday. The two will settle the series Monday in a winner take all cage match. A visit from Albany State awaits the Spartans next week.

The Mavs (3-1) outscored Northeastern State in a Sunday doubleheader which is no easy feat; that’s like out-cooling the Fonz because the RiverHawks got some sticks. Southwest Baptist for the Mavs midweek with no games as MSU prepares for their spring trip south.

USCA (7-2) swept visiting Belmont Abbey to put a stranglehold on their top three position. The Pacers’ first road games are this week against the always formidable Francis Marion Patriots.

The Bearcats (8-1) split a double header with Flagler. The two teams will play again Monday to decide the series victor. LU has road games against Clafin and Young Harris this week.

MOUNT OLIVE TROJANS
UMO (5-3) battled Concord to an extra-innings loss before squishing them 14-1 in a rematch. The Trojans and Mountain Lions will decide the series winner Monday and Mount Olive will go on to play Lenoir-Rhyne and California (Pa) this week.

The Griffins (0-0) don’t take to the diamond for play until February 22nd when they travel down to North Carolina to play Barton.

The Muleriders (8-2) won a hotly contested series with GAC rival Southwestern Oklahoma State two games to one. SAU takes on another direction of Oklahoma this week when they host Northwestern Oklahoma State.

The Hilltoppers (6-4) returned to their winning ways with a sweep of Colorado Christian. SEU has games with Houston-Victoria and Oklahoma Christian this week.

UAM (7-2) lost the opener of their series with Northwestern Oklahoma State, but the upstart Weevils had a pair of come-from-behind wins to win the series. UAM plays DI Arkansas State, Le Moyne-Owen and Southwestern Oklahoma State this week.

Colorado Mesa (4-0) opened 2014 with a four game sweep of Dixie State which included a pair of shutouts. The Mavericks have a series with DI’s Northern Colorado this week.

The Bobcats (1-1) went mano-y-mano with Tampa and managed to split a double header with the top ranked Spartans. GCSU can make a big jump in the rankings if they are able to take the rubber match Monday.

The Broncos (10-0) entered the rankings on the heels of a pair of impressive series sweeps against Dixie State and CSUMB. Poly Pomona has another quality matchup this week against UC San Diego.

The Lions (5-2) had week off. St. Leo returns to action this week with games against Florida Southern and Clearwater Christian.

The Chargers’ (7-3) pitchers only allowed a single earned runs in their series with West Georgia; however their batsmen were shutdown in the second game and couldn’t complete the sweep. UAH will host a pair monosyllabic teams in Miles and Lee this week.
