TAMPA SPARTANS
The Spartans (6-0) swept the competion at the Prestige Appliance Classic which included wins over a pair of top five teams in Mount Olive and USC Aiken. UT has another big weekend coming up with a series at Georgia College.

MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS
The top ranked Mavericks (1-1) split with upstart Arkansas Monticello. The loss to UAM slips MSU from the top spot and solidifies the Weevils’ accention into the top twenty. The Mavs head to Tahlequah, OK to play offensive-minded Northeastern State next weekend.

USC AIKEN PACERS
The Pacers (4-2) could have laid claim to the top spot had they held off a ninth inning Tampa rally. Nonetheless, USCA did have wins over Shepherd and Mount Olive for a solid showing for the weekend. A date with Belmont Abbey awaits the Pacers for Valentine’s Day weekend.

LANDER BEARCATS
Lander (7-0) routed Clafin midweek and swept three games from North Greenville over the weekend to move into the top ten. The Bearcats have a midweek matchup with Mount Olive and series with Flagler this week.

MOUNT OLIVE TROJANS
UMO (4-2) lost a pair of games over the weekend, but they were to two of the top three teams in the rankings. The Trojans fell to Tampa and USC Aiken while winning against Shepherd. UMO has another tough week with Lander and Concord on the agenda.

The Griffins (0-0) don’t take to the diamond for play until February 22nd when they travel down to North Carolina to play Barton.

The Lakers (0-0) don’t have a game scheduled until February 21st when they play Southern Indiana.

The Wildcats (0-0) open their 2014 schedule the weekend of February 21st when they play Mercyhurst Mansfield and St. Rose in a tournament in Virginia.

WEST FLORIDA ARGONAUTS
The Argos (5-2) had an easy win over Spring Hill and took two of three from Rollins. UWF will play a pair with Miles midweek before hitting the road to play a difficult series with North Alabama.

SCSU (0-0) doesn’t start it’s season until the weekend of February 21st when they a pair of games with Quincy and Arkansas Tech.

SOUTHERN ARKANSAS MULERIDERS
The Muleriders (6-1) lost the finale in their series with Augustana, but had an uber impressive sweep of Texas A&M Kingsville on the road to vault up the rankings. SAU plays Ouachita Baptist and Southwestern Oklahoma State this week.

The Panthers (0-0) are one of the last teams to play their first games of the year as they don’t hit the diamond until March 1st when they play Northwestern Oklahoma State.

The Marauders (2-1) lost their season opener to Winston-Salem State, but came back to win the series two games to one. Millersville has a pair of doubleheaders with Chowan this week.

UNC PEMBROKE BRAVES
The Braves (5-0) had a pair of lopsided wins over Pitt-Johnstown, outscoring the Mountain Cats 25-2 in a doubleheader sweep on Sunday. It will be a tougher row to hoe next week when UNCP plays at Columbus State.

ARK.-MONTICELLO BOLL WEEVILS
Remember in 2008 when the Weevils went 0-37 with a team ERA of 13.86? UAM has had the best start of any school in the early season with three wins over ranked teams including a victory over previously top ranked Minnesota State on Sunday.

The Falcons (5-2) shutout Stillman on the road and won a series over St. Leo to move into the top twenty. UM faces both West Alabama and North Alabama this week.

The Javelinas (2-3) lost a close pair of games to Southern Arkansas on Saturday and dropped the Sunday finale to get swept on the weekend and out of the top ten. The Hoggies have a single game with Houston-Victoria scheduled for this week.

The Hilltoppers’ (2-4) early season struggles continue as SEU lost a pair of close games to NAIA stalwart Tabor College. SEU will look to even-up its record next week against Colorado Christian.

The Rattlers (5-1) opened their new stadium by only allowing four runs in four games against visiting University of Mary. StMU swept the Marauders and will be looking for more wins this week against Houston-Victoria and Metro State.

Georgia College (3-0) opened their season with a sweep of King which included an 18-1 win and 7-0 shutout. The Bobcats need to bring their best game next week when they host top ranked Tampa.

The Mules (3-4) went to Arkadelphia, Arkansas where they were rudely treated by their host Ouachita Baptist. The Tigers took took from the Mules who need some wins next week against Southwest Baptist to stay in the rankings.

Franklin Pierce (0-0) doesn’t take to the diamond for regularly scheduled games until February 21st when they play five games in Myrtle Beach.
